How do I create a free invoice PDF?
Open the invoice editor, enter your business and customer details, add line items, and review the live totals. Choose Classic or Minimal with a preset color, then download your invoice PDF for free. A logo, tax, discounts, shipping, and deposits are included.

- File handling
- Free PDFs are generated in your browser. Pro exports are processed in server memory. Only Save to account stores invoice contents in the private Pro library. Unsaved drafts are lost when the tab closes or refreshes.
- Limits to know
- 24 currencies; one invoice-level tax rate with per-item exemptions. Up to 200 saved invoices with Pro. No automatic currency conversion, payment collection, email sending, tax filing, or payment-status synchronization. Some writing systems are not supported by the PDF font.

Which invoice features require Pro?
Studio and Editorial PDF layouts, a custom brand color, a payment QR code, a custom footer, and saving or updating up to 200 invoices in your account. You can preview design options before upgrading. A free-version download removes premium styling and extras from the exported copy.
Can I edit my invoice later?
Download a JSON draft backup and import it into this tool later, or choose Save to account with Pro. A PDF is a finished document, not an editable invoice draft. Unsaved work stays only in the current tab.
How are discounts and taxes calculated?
Discounts apply to item charges before tax and are allocated proportionally across the items. Choose prices including tax or tax added to prices, and mark tax-exempt items individually. Shipping is separate and can optionally be taxed. Amounts are rounded to the chosen currency’s minor unit. Use the rates and treatment appropriate to your transaction.
Can I add a payment link or QR code?
Paste an existing HTTPS checkout link for free. Pro can encode it as a QR code. Folio does not create a payment account, process the payment, verify the payee, or mark an invoice paid automatically.
Will my invoice be saved online?
Free PDF creation happens in your browser. Premium PDF export sends the invoice to Folio for processing without saving it to the invoice library. Only Save to account stores its contents, including the logo and payment instructions, in your private library. Downloaded copies remain on your device.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes. Switch between Edit invoice and Live preview, then choose Download PDF. The mobile save panel gives you a fresh Download file or Share file action once the PDF is ready. Check your browser’s downloads or Files app for the saved copy.
